They say the Kingdom of Cambodia is a place you will never forget. I’d say it’s true. During my “Amazing Race” honeymoon, I personally picked Siem Reap as one of the destinations me and my husband had, and I never regret it. Siem Reap for us was a super friendly place, with friendly neighborhood, polite people, and one of those countries you’ll feel at home. It was a great place to visit, and it won’t be the experience lasts a lifetime if we weren’t stay at Cambana d’Angkor Suites.
How to go to Cambana d’Angkor Suites
Cambana d’Angkor Suites is just 10 minutes drive from Siem Reap International Airport. It’s about 15 minutes if you take Tuk Tuk. It is conveniently located near Siem Reap city centre, the famous pub street, and the night market. It is also just 15 minutes drive from the world heritage site Angkor Wat.
To have yourself picked up by driver / Tuk Tuk driver at the airport, simply request to the reception when you make a reservation. I was picked up by a private car at the airport and was sent back to the airport by Tuk tuk.
Direction: 300 meters from Psa Ngei traffic light on the west near the ACELIDA Bank and next to Abacus restaurant.
About Cambana d’Angkor Suites
When I browse all the accommodations that Siem Reap offer, I personally found that only Cambana d’Angkor Suites catches my attention. There are many luxury hotels in Siem Reap (I perfectly aware of that), but only this one that has the traditional-mix-modern style decoration, creating the perfect Angkorian experience. For an exotic city like Siem Reap, you know you just got to stay at a hotel that combines ancient luxuries with a contemporary service like this one.
Once you step inside the front gate of Cambana d’Angkor Suites you’ll discover a modern version of ancient Angkor. By this I mean they feature Angkorian-style reliefs and luxurious upholstery. With only 9 suites available, Cambana d’Angkor Suites offer a truly unique experience in Siem Reap. All suites are individual air-conditioned with spacious living areas, flat-screen cable TV, private balcony, fully-stocked mini bar, in room safety box, bathrobe, en-suite bathroom with hot/cold water shower, and a separate bathtub. Swimming pool, relaxation area, and sun deck are some of the facilities provided.
Cambana d’Angkor also offer personal tuk tuk or driver services for all the guests. On my trip to Angkor Wat, I booked a personal tuk tuk from the front desk. Tuk tuk was ready from early morning 5am and the driver spoke good English too. A very nice gesture that I remember until now is that the room service arranged a take away breakfast set for me and my husband. They are very happy to cater to your dining needs.
Me and my husband stayed in the Presidential Suites for 2 nights. We arrived quite late so the room was rather dark. The beautifully designed room was just like in the photos, featuring Angkorian-style carvings and all. What I didn’t know was that each room has private entrance and balcony, which gives guests extra sense of seclusion and space. Best!
The room was big enough for two people. Room size is around 65sqm with private balcony around 6m x 1.5m. It has the best thing newlyweds could imagine; big fluffy bed, en-suite bathroom, a romantic bathtub, bathrobes, and a complimentary wine.
Rate for this room is around IDR 1,2 million per night.
Cambana Royal Suite
A level up from the Presidential Suite is the Cambana Royal Suite. Room size is 75sqm, featuring a large stunning bed, luxurious bathtub, living room, private balcony, and some panoranic views.
Rate for this room is around IDR 2,3 million per night.
Overall for me these Khmer style hotel is really the place to stay for those looking for extra luxury and private getaway. Also for us as newlyweds, this is the best place to stay in Siem Reap. Won’t find anything like it, for sure.
