Finally, something cute in Seoul! After a long tiring days of walking around to find cute things in the world of stationary Seoul (but got none of what we expected), we finally get to this cute cafe called Hello Kitty Cafe. I’m not sure if it’s originally from the creator of Hello Kitty, or it’s just because of the owner is a die-hard fan of Hello Kitty.
Anyways, we expected a warm welcome from the waitress, but instead, I had to wait for them doing their stuffs before I can place an order. First sigh of the day! Then, I really didn’t expect one of them to have scary tattoos on both of her hands. Oh and they play pop rock songs too! I mean, it’s Hello Kitty Cafe, it’s supposed to be cutey cutey full of girly stuffs, right?
Luckily the drink was good, the best Hot Chocolate I’ve tasted during my trip to Seoul. Really! So overall it was a pleasant quick stay at the cafe. It felt so good to have a minute of “warm”-ing session in the middle of cold weather, despite the ‘scary’ waitress you need to greet.
How to get to Hello Kitty Cafe:
1. First, take Metro to Hongik University (Hongdae) Station.
2. Once you arrived, go to Exit 2, it will basically get you to somewhere near KFC.
3. When you are at KFC, find Watsons just in front of you. Walk down the street (Watsons should be on your right side). Turn right just when you are at the first junction. Walk up until you see the next junction.
4. At this junction you will see 2 rows of streets. Take the one on your left. Walk up until you see Hello Kitty Cafe on your left. It’s a tall pink building but you can actually lost it (i did!).
