When planning our honeymoon last time, I wanted to put Penang Island in one of our destinations. However, I have to let go Penang Island that time because there was no airplane connecting this tiny island to our next destinations. So when the thought of having our second honeymoon came out, of course Penang was my first priority destination.
Why Lone Pine
Because of the pine trees, of course. My friend recommended this place to me once. She showed me a picture of their pine trees and I immediately told myself “I have to go”.
My personal experience staying at Lone Pine Hotel
I sent two emails to their front desk asking if I can get someone to pick us up at the airport, but no one replied our emails. Sent a notes via Booking.com, but still no reply. Maybe they’re too busy. Honestly that wasn’t what I expected from a hotel that has a TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence.
Anyway, the room wasn’t too spectacular. Just a normal room, rather dusty (too bad!). Highlight of the room was the outdoor bath tub, right in your own balcony. To be frank, other than the pine trees, this outdoor bath tub feature was the one thing I look forward to experience. Sadly it wasn’t like all the reviews I’ve read, we couldn’t see the beach from our balcony because the view was all covered by the pine trees. I guess you need to ask for a higher level room to be able to overlook the beach while soaking yourself in the tub.
Pine trees and the pool, however, was awesome. Me and my husband had the best noon ever. If you’re a pro in doing nothing and looking for a place to spend your lazy afternoons then this is the right place to be. Spend a day or two, you’ll not regret it. Oh and they have real good food too!
