The Making of Harry Potter Tour, Watford – England

During my trip to UK, exactly after Liverpool, me and Angela went to have this amazing Warner Bros Studio Tour in Watford, England. Angela booked the tour from the website. Price was £29 during my visit (now £30). They have more than 10 tour schedule per day.

How to go to the studio? Well, we went there from Liverpool. we took a train down from Liverpool to Watford Junction, and then just opposite the station, there will be a shuttle bus taking us directly to the studio. It was easy to find the shuttle bus as the big bus was all covered with Harry Potter images. Want more Pottery feeling to boost your mood? The bus plays Hogwarts sounds and music all the way during the 15 minutes journey. For once I feel like I’m no muggle at all. I’m going to Hogwarts! :p

A note from the website: Plan to arrive at Watford Junction 45 minutes before the time stated on your ticket, and have your ticket or booking confirmation ready when boarding the shuttle bus. Return ticket for the shuttle bus is £2.

So how was it inside the studio? Take a peek!

While queuing up for the tour, we were shown Harry Potter’s tiny bedroom in Privet Drive. It was so small it’s frustrating.

Arrived at the Great Hall of Hogwarts.

After the Great Hall, we were taken to the “behind the scene” sets of many scenes in the Harry Potter series. There were many posters explaining each role of the people that makes the movie so great.

Beautiful beautiful sets of the class room, and below is Diagon Alley!

And, my favorite part was, we can actually practice riding a broom! Really! Too bad we were told we can’t take picture inside the green screen area 🙁

Another favorite part: tasting the famous Butterbeer!

The crew names of all 8 movies of Harry Potter series were made to a wand box and kept in a library. You can spot J.K. Rowling’s wand box there.

This is super cool: They actually had to make a real “eating book” and “walking hand” for the movie.

And if you must know, the “real” Hogwarts was just a miniature of the huge towers made from paper. All hail the video editor! 😀

That’s all! Oh ya, at the beginning of the tour, we were shown a short clip from behind the making of Harry Potter. At the very end of the short clip, Daniel Radcliffe said, “You’ll never look at Quidditch the same way again”. Well, that sums up everything about the tour! Full of bare secrets! 😀

Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this website.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and appearance.
I must say you’ve done a awesome job with this.
In addition, the blog loads extremely quick for me on Firefox.
    Excellent Blog!
